Keith Fiala's Grooveskool band is a cookin quintet formed of a dynamic group of accomplished musicians performing a unique mix of the best standard, contemporary, and original compositions.

Keith Fiala is one of the most exciting, innovative and versatile trumpet players and educators/clinicians on the music scene today.

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Fiala moved to Austin, Texas in 1988 to study with Raymond Crisara at the University of Texas. A First Call trumpeter in Austin and throughout the Lone Star State, Keith is a founding member of, and former performer with the celebrated R&B group, Memphis Train Revue and has toured the world performing with his mentor, the legendary Maynard Ferguson.

A dedicated educator and clinician, Fiala taught for the prestigious Austin School of Music and currently teaches trumpet at Temple College, where he also performs as Lead Trumpet in the Temple Jazz Orchestra and featured soloist for the Temple Fusion group. He is the author of the celebrated trumpet diagnostic methodologies, Secrets to Efficient Brass Playing & About Face, as well as Weekly Trumpet Tips, an Internet-based, multimedia instruction series for trumpeters.

Keith has shared the stage with jazz greats Arturo Sandoval, Gordon Goodwin, Randy Brecker, The Temptations, Brian Lynch, Allen Vizzutti, Bill Watrous, Wayne Bergeron, Eric Mariental and many others. He is also a recording artist, and is an endorsed artist of the internationally renowned Austin Winds Trumpet Pro Shop.
